Dr. Nathan Steinmeyer has supported Notre Dame Jerusalem as a Consultant since July 2025.
In his role, Nathan facilitates the various research efforts and communications of Notre Dame Jerusalem. Before joining ND Jerusalem, Nathan worked for half a decade in journalism and digital communications.
Nathan holds a B.S. in Philosophy and Religion from Hillsdale College, an MA in the Bible in the Ancient Near East from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a Ph.D. in Assyriology from Tel Aviv University. He remains actively engaged in his own research, which encompasses ancient Near Eastern divinatory practices, the social world of Mesopotamia, and the interconnection between the Hebrew Bible and its Near Eastern context.
