Lisa Caulfield serves as Director of the University of Notre Dame at Kylemore, where she has established herself as a leader in international academic programming and partnerships. Originally from Toronto, Canada, she relocated to Ireland in 2003, bringing with her degrees from the University of Toronto and Ryerson University, followed by graduate studies in Ireland in Irish Literature at Maynooth.
After joining the University of Notre Dame in 2004, she has significantly expanded the institution's presence in Ireland, particularly through her leadership and the establishment of the University of Notre Dame's campus at Kylemore Abbey in 2016.
She oversees a diverse range of multi - disciplinary programs from executive professional development to residencies; she is executive director of the Graduate Studies Summer Program in Irish Studies. She has set up summer programs and conferences for disciplines spanning all of the University's Colleges. She oversees the junior semester abroad program at the University of Galway, and has developed various research initiatives for faculty and students alike.
She is known for creating sustainable partnerships and fostering an environment that promotes both academic excellence and comprehensive student support. Through her commitment to the arts, the University of Notre Dame campus at Kylemore has residential workspace for local, national and international artists across all art forms.
She has continued her studies with Cambridge University and brings additional expertise for sustainable initiatives that incorporate design thinking, innovative management, and intentional organizational leadership with local and international partners.
