Katie Francis

As an Assistant Director for Study Abroad, Katie Francis advises students interested in study abroad programs in Italy, working closely with them through each stage of the study abroad process.

Katie holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of North Texas and is TEFL/TESOL certified. She brings over 10 years of experience supporting students in international education and cultural exchange. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, Katie worked internationally as an English language teacher in Thailand, as a compliance manager for EF High School Exchange Year, and most recently, as an international recruitment specialist for CIEE. At CIEE, she facilitated orientations for international students across Lithuania, Kosovo, and Poland, and she reviewed applications and conducted interviews for CIEE’s Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange, a government-funded competitive scholarship program.

Katie is no stranger to study abroad, having studied abroad in both Thailand and Romania during her time at UNT, and hosted exchange students in her family home from Northern Ireland and Albania as a teenager. She enjoys learning about the world, being creative, and spending time with her two dogs.
