Hannah Flanagan

Hannah Flanagan, a native of Haverhill, Massachusetts, completed her undergraduate education at Fairfield University in 2022 with a B.A. in History. Possessing a lifelong affinity for Irish history and culture, she moved to Dublin in the fall of 2022 to earn an M.Phil in Modern Irish History at Trinity College Dublin. Both her undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations examine the intellectual and cultural activity of Ireland’s first women’s nationalist organization, Inghinidhe na hÉireann (“Daughters of Ireland”). She joined the University of Notre Dame Dublin in 2024.

As Project Manager, Hannah oversees the organization and delivery of the Irish Internship Programme and short-term immersion programmes over fall and spring breaks. She also manages Special Collections at O’Connell House, including the Brian Friel Library, the Seamus Heaney Collection, the Nanovic European Studies Library, and the Vermillion Collection, with the intention of expanding student and faculty research opportunities.

In addition to her current role at Notre Dame Dublin, Hannah is pursuing another Master’s degree, this time in Irish Mythology and Folklore through University College Cork, over the next two years.

Hannah enjoys reading, attending weekly pub quizzes with friends, experimenting in the kitchen, crafting, and spending time with loved ones back home in Massachusetts.
