Andrea Sánchez Álvarez

Andrea Sánchez Álvarez is a graduate of the Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla in Mexico, with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations. Her academic background in social justice, human rights, and migration has influenced her current work in international education, where she supports the development of academic and intercultural experiences that encourage global engagement, cross-cultural learning, and meaningful student experiences.

During her undergraduate studies, Andrea completed a dual internship at the Center for Immigrant and Refugee Accompaniment at Loyola University Chicago and worked as a case manager at a nonprofit organization providing social services to immigrant communities in Chicago. Moreover, as a member of the IAJU Global Citizenship Fellows Program 2025–2026 cohort in Rome, she has further expanded her perspective on global citizenship, intercultural collaboration, and inclusion through engagement with peers from Jesuit universities around the world. These experiences shaped her work in international education, endorsing the creation of significant academic and intercultural spaces for students.

Andrea currently serves as the Program Associate Consultant for Notre Dame Global's study abroad program in Puebla, Mexico, where she supports the design and implementation of academic and intercultural experiences for the study abroad students. She is committed to fostering inclusive learning environments that promote intercultural understanding, global citizenship, and transformative educational experiences.
