The prose poem is enjoying a renaissance at the present time. The moment seems opportune to explore and reappraise the limits, boundaries and new incarnations of the form.
This will thus be a major conference on the Prose Poem. It will offer both a historical perspective, an exploration of the state of the prose poem today, an appraisal of the hybrid dimension of the form, the prose poem in translation, the multilingual dimension of the prose poem. It will include keynotes from prominent scholars and readings & performances from poets.
It builds on a network established in Paris last Spring (2025) and which looks set to expand and grow beyond its present state, to include a website home, a journal, and bi-annual conferences.
