Sub-Saharan Africa Collaboration Opportunities

Notre Dame Global (NDG) is proud to provide programs to expand the number of guest scholars/artists at the University from sub-Saharan Africa and to provide funding to build, sustain, and encourage academic and research collaboration with universities in sub-Saharan Africa. These programs are listed below.


Sub-Saharan Africa Guest Scholar/Artist Partnership Program

Notre Dame Global (NDG) is pleased to continue the Sub-Saharan Africa Guest Scholar/Artist Partnership Program. The goal of this program is to for an ND faculty member to partner with on-campus unit (center/institute/department) in bringing to Notre Dame guest scholars and artists from sub-Saharan Africa with outstanding reputations in their field. During the visit, the guest scholar/artist would pursue their own research/art in collaboration with an ND faculty researcher/artist and discuss/plan future collaborations, all while engaging in the intellectual/artistic life and community at Notre Dame.

Sub-Saharan Africa Research Collaboration Grant

Notre Dame Global is providing funding to build, sustain, and encourage academic and research collaboration (research projects, faculty and graduate student exchange, conferences, seminars, etc.) with universities in sub-Saharan Africa.

Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis and, where relevant, projects will be offered administrative and logistical support by Notre Dame Nairobi.

This grant program supports the University’s broader strategy to promote academic cooperation in sub-Saharan Africa by building upon existing partnerships and creating new opportunities for research and scholarly exchange.
