The Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts from the College of Arts and Letters (ISLA) and Notre Dame Global (NDG) are pleased to announce the Global Dissertation Grants program. This Program will provide support up to $8,000 per award to Ph.D. students who wish to add or enhance a global component in their dissertation research.

The Program is open to all A&L Ph.D. students wishing to explore/augment research at locations worldwide and is particularly interested in applications that seek to establish or enhance pathways between the key region of Sub-Sahara Africa or to institutions within the Consortium of Catholic Universities. Where relevant, NDG may help facilitate connections to/within the Catholic Consortium and in Sub-Sahara Africa. Travel to more than one location is permitted within the one overall funded trip from the United States.

The Program will support Ph.D. researchers in either the development stages of their dissertation seeking to add a global dimension, or those in more advanced stages who already have a core global component/focus to their dissertation and wish to broaden and deepen this.

PLEASE NOTE: The focus cannot be an internship or the acquisition or development of a language, unless it is a language that is not taught at ND. The award cannot interfere with any on-campus commitments or responsibilities.
